We help investors better understand ASX-listed companies

Pitt Street Research’s experienced equity analysts produce research reports on ASX-listed companies, as well as video content sharing the insights from those reports and interviews with company management. We help investors understand companies better by providing context around companies' news flow and announcements. Our research process is similar to that undertaken by the best sell-side teams from the established brokers and banks.

The research is issuer-sponsored, meaning that ASX-listed companies commission and pay for the reports and video content related to their companies. When commissioning research from us, our sponsor clients commit to our research process to ensure genuine independence on the part of our analysts, and the sponsorship arrangement is fully disclosed in all the relevant research content. We offer sponsors a range of research packages to suit the varied need of ASX-listed companies at all stages of development.

How our clients benefit

The main benefit for listed companies of working with Pitt Street Research is quality analyst coverage, leading to investor appreciation of the stock as the company makes commercial progress. Research by good analysts with rated sector-specific expertise has always been vital to the growth of ASX-listed companies in the modern era and drives trading volumes.

Companies with research coverage have a much easier time gaining investor understanding of what they do and how they seek to create shareholder value. The problem historically, when research was almost universally done inside banks and brokerage houses, was that most companies didn’t get covered or were under-covered – there were too many quality companies to choose from and too few analysts. Also, distribution of that research tended to be restricted to a relatively small number of clients of the producing firm.

With the pool of analysts in traditional research departments now shrinking due to the changing nature of financial markets, the supply/demand imbalance in research is even greater - this at a time when companies themselves are harder to understand without analyst help because of their increasing technological sophistication!

Pitt Street Research, with its issue-sponsored research model, now makes quality analyst coverage available for a broad swathe of companies and investors that traditionally couldn’t join ‘The Club’. Our experience with TMT Analytics and NDF Research is that research coverage tends to help maintain share prices ahead of positive developments, and better primes the market to respond to the good news.
